Hi guys! I know it's been a while, so how have you been? How was your summer? Have you started classes yet? Cool, cool. Well, I'm here to give you a recap of some of the stuff that I've been up to, which has kept me away from posting. So, here goes: END OF SUMMER So, those final weeks of summer included for me some major family time. My cousin turned 15 and had her big Quinceañero and it was honestly a lot more fun than the ones I went to when I turned 15. The music was current and cool (aka I helped pick it out ;) haha), the Father/Daughter dance they did was Youtube-worthy, they had like a V.I.P. Area for the friends that was away from the parent's prying eyes; all in all super cool and beautiful looking. (I myself didn't have a traditional quinceañero, because I didn't want one. Instead my friends got together and threw a surprise pool party for me, which was super lovely of them. Those cuties. Ahem.) So yeah, my cousin looked beautiful, the whole family was there, a lot of kids from the different school's she's been to attended and so, my cousin's fear that no one would show up was completely unfounded. A definite good time. Also, my parental units were all there drinking and dancing and if you think having to worry about your Mom & Dad embarrassing you, imagine when you have to keep an eye on 4 people. Yeah... Hahaha A few days after that, my other cousin got married to his longtime girlfriend at a beautiful beach wedding. (Also it was HOT as HELL, but you know – to be expected.) It was beautiful and fun and one of the highlights was one of the speeches given at the beginning. You see, my cousin married his girlfriend, right? Well, her sister already married a guy who happens to be a childhood friend of my cousin. And when I say childhood friend, I mean he grew up in front of my grandmother's house, calls her Grandma and talked in his whole speech about what it was like to grow up across the street from, basically, our entire family. The point is it's not like this was planned they just, by some universal sense of humor, ended up marrying into the same family. It's definitely a story that makes my heart feel like it's growing two sizes. <33 After that, another fun thing I did over the summer was hang out with my friends two nights in a row – and bumping into a friend from high school that I hadn't seen in forever. Summer was sweet, different than the last two (aka I didn't go on a trip), and a lil' sweaty ngl haha I enjoyed it and can't wait to see what the next one brings for me. Hopefully though, the school year doesn't kick my butt too hard in the meant time. START OF SEMESTER I'm taking 4 classes & and a lab, and so far I like all of my professors (then again, it's only been one week lol). Hopefully nothing major happens to change that and well, I'm actually quite excited for a few of them. One in particular is my Digital Creative Writing Class, which has required me to create a WordPress Blog. It's titled Orchestrated Collision, as a nod to We Collide in Words – in case it wasn't clear ;) haha. (btw if you're interested in the actual URL of it, let me know :) I'm cool with sharing.) I also hung out with my friends again recently, and I've gotten my student aid money deposited, so things are starting on the right foot. (KNOCK ON WOOD) Anyway, it's Sunday now and I have to start getting ready for ~the College Life~ again. I'm unsure if I'll be keeping Wednesdays as my posting day – which is something I'll try to figure out soon enough :) Music should still be up on Mondays though, at least now that I'm back on this. As for when Iyan will be back to posting, I'm not 100% sure. If you follow him on any of his social media accounts, you'll know what's up – if not, I don't know, I don't feel like it's my place to talk about it yet. Either way, send him some love on our Tumblr if you get the chance. :) That's it for now, guys. I hope to be back to posting regularly ASAP! muchlove
