So here we are again, Discussion Days. I had a full DD about communicating and guess what? I accidentally went to another page and PUFF gone. The world works in mysterious ways does it not? Well I guess I'm going to discuss about that one time back in the day when I forgot to save (so I guess twenty minutes ago? Nah this is one of those "This one time in 8th grade I..." story).
Soooo, this one time in 8th grade (You had a warning) I was working on a science fair project (now let me give you some back story, I hated science fair projects. I never did any of them with time besides this one for some reason this project I really wanted to get a good grade) and I swear I think the ghost of Sir Isaac Newton was possessing me because I wanted to do all the science. It wasn't anything fancy it was just a simple "Lets put iron screws in house hold liquids and see which ones become nothing first" (which if you ever get the chance do, it's pretty cool). So I go to a university where my dad did some volunteer work when he was younger, so he knew some of the people that worked in the labs, and I get my science on.
Fast forward a month later, BOOM results are in, I'm excited, the experiment was a great experience so I go home with all my notes and I'm going to do the written part of the test, which of course I should've done as I got results in daily. So as I am writing everything down on my parents computer and guess what? The lights go out (this was around 7pm), I didn't save, and I was at least halfway done. I'm in total disarray almost crying, lights came back on around midnight and let me tell you, my parents aren't the kind of parents that tell their child: "Oh honey go to sleep I'll finish it for you", my parents are the ones that tell me: "Listen kid, you procrastinated and it's about time you realized that if you don't do your work on time you going to lose some sleep time so, SUCK IT UP" so I had to stay up until 2:30am to finish this damn project and to this day, I still hate science fairs and I save every fifteen minutes at least 3 times.
Now let's put a little event list here so we are all on the same page:
Got experiment data back every week
Should have imputed said data into the written essay when I receved data
Waited last minute to imput data/start essay(do not recommend)
Lights go out, killing all my hard work in the blink of a screen
Project not saved all my hard work gone
8th Grade Iyan in tears doing said project until 2:30am
Moral of this story: SAVE YOUR DAMN PROJECTS AT LEAST TWICE EVERY TIME YOU REMEMBER.
P.S. I hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed going down memory lane and almost crying again after I accidentally deleted the original post (first time it's happened since 8th grade haha) but I'll see you guys soon and hopefully you get a kick out my story and remember: Always, Always, Save your Data.
